The Selfie Project
This is my personal challenge. As a result from the years of not showing myself the kind of love that I deserve, I hate taking selfies. I squirm a little when that camera is pointed back at me and I have to look myself in the eyes. Typically what happens when I attempt a selfie, I notice something about myself I may not like, I try and hide it from the camera, and usually just turn off the camera without taking the picture. Then spend the next several minutes frustrated and obsessing about whatever flaw the camera highlighted for me to see . I realized that the best way to get over this, is just to keep doing it. Increase my comfort level and learn to love myself better. I feel like I am the only one who struggles in this area. Every social medical platform is covered with selfies. So, why can't I love my own selfie? My goal is simple. Discover my amazing self (or selfie) and post them all here, as well as my social media platforms. I invite anyone to put #myamazingselfie if you can relate, or maybe you go to take that selfie and want to turn off your camera because you don't like who is looking back at you in that moment. I dare you to take that selfie anyway, and post it with #myamazingselfie. Who knows what could happen.
